Let's get started packing!
1. Keep the weight of each box at or under 30 lbs and less for fragile items.
2. Label each box, marking which room it will go to upon delivery.
3. Pack fragile items carefully in separate boxes using the proper packing materials and label those boxes "fragile".
4. Make sure to tape top and bottom shut to ensure safety of the items inside.
5. Do not pack above edge of the container: box.
6. Grandfather clocks: Pendulums on clocks should be removed or secured tightly to the base of the clock. Small clocks may be wrapped and placed in boxes.
7. Leave clothes in the dressers as long as their are not any breakables and lose jewelry or collector items.
8. Valuables- Legal documents, all important papers, jewelry, and currency should be handled by you personally. Keep them in your immediate possession.
9. Moving companies will not assume responsibility for living plants.
10. Mattress- You may purchase additional plastic for your mattress and box spring ahead of time.
11. Large mirrors will be blanket-wrap to ensure non-breakage.
12. Bric a brac - Wrap separately and pack in cartons, boxes, barrels.
Pack largest and heaviest items in bottom of container/boxes. Do not pack over edge of container/boxes.
13. Make sure all boxes are closed and ready to go. This way the movers can stack the boxes on a dolly and make your move go quicker. Packing at the last minute will hold up your movers from getting the job done in a timely manner.
